We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for a Systems Engineer III.

The Systems Engineer III is an exempt position that with minimal supervision will provide assistance, technical support and administration in the areas of servers, storage, connectivity and applications. This position will work with Orrick's Systems group and Network group.

The Systems Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support Orrick's core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all servers, software, hardware, systems, storage and associated operating systems. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Qualifications:
β€’ Ten plus years experience in the areas of Network Operations. This can include a combination of System/Server/Storage Administration (servers, SANs, AD, Exchange) and Network Administration (LAN, WAN, routing and switching) required.
β€’ Proficiency with Windows 2000/2003/2008 server operating systems and utilities is required.
β€’ Skill with Web Servers (IIS) and FTP servers is necessary.
β€’ Experience with WINS, DNS and DHCP in a corporate environment is required.
β€’ Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory 2003/2008 and Exchange 2003/2007 required.
β€’ Some knowledge of virtualization including VMWare is required.
β€’ General proficiency with Windows XP/Vista desktop and MS Office 2003/2007 suite of products is required.
β€’ Skill managing EMC or NetApp SANs and HP storage is preferred.
β€’ Knowledge of server monitoring and troubleshooting tools preferred.
β€’ Experience with Citrix and traditional VPNs is a plus.
β€’ Knowledge of content and proxy devices including Microsoft ISA and Bluecoat preferred.
β€’ Skill with backups and antivirus systems preferred.
β€’ Experience with Symantec eVault (email archiving) preferred.
β€’ Microsoft SMS, WSUS or SCCM preferred.
β€’ Knowledge of Cisco devices; VPN concentrators, Cisco PIX/ASA, switches (Layer 2 and 3), routers and routing protocols such as BGP preferred.
β€’ Knowledge of PBXs, Voice Mail systems, ACDs preferred.
β€’ IP Telephony (VOIP) and video communications design and troubleshooting preferred.
β€’ Proficiency with firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection and other security measures preferred.
