We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for an Electronic Research Analyst.

 

Under the direct supervision of attorneys in multiple practice offices, this role supports the needs of the Litigation Division generally and the Commercial Litigation, Employment, Securities Litigation & Regulatory Enforcement and White Collar practice groups specifically on both billable and non-billable matters. The incumbent must possess excellent internet research and excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information both orally and in writing.  Must have an interest in uncovering important background information as it relates to individuals and business entities by way of electronic research. This role works independently on discreet issues and projects while receiving direct supervision by various Litigation Division attorneys across the firm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electronic research according to a checklist of steps developed by Orrick Practice Leaders
  • Usage of internet and state of the art investigative websites and databases
  • Ability to identify and retrieve background information electronically
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate the data collected
  • Place the data in dossiers for review by attorneys

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials required.
  • Must possess excellent legal research, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Must possess a personable approach and work as a part of a team.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and customer service orientation.
  • Must exercise independent judgment and be comfortable being remotely supervised by attorneys in other practice offices.
