We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for a Web Engineering Specialist II.

We are seeking a hands-on Web Engineer to design, enhance and implement web applications for Orrick’s intranet, extranet and internet web sites. This position will work with software engineers, and business professionals to create both front-end and back-end web applications. You will be responsible for operational support in all engineering functional areas as well as brainstorming features and ideas. You will design and implement scalable, flexible, high-standard applications and implement solutions as requested.

Specific responsibilities include:
β€’ Interact with business analysts, operational users, and management leaders to provide user interface design, programming and systems/solutions for the Orrick portal, SharePoint systems, and other web based applications.
β€’ With limited supervision, manage the software development lifecycle including architecture design, programming, testing, code review, documentation, and release.
β€’ Translate user requirements into system requirements and create technical specifications.
β€’ Identify project tasks to be executed, create time estimates, and implement the appropriate solution.
β€’ Revise existing applications, correct deficiencies and update statuses in helpdesk system.
β€’ Support the development processes using Web Engineering standards and assist in the testing phase.

Skill requirements: Expert skills in a variety of Microsoft programming disciplines, best-practices and procedures within Visual Studio .NET 2008 (or 2005), ASP.NET, C#, and SQL Server 2008 (or 2005). Preferred legacy skills include classic ASP, XML//XSLT, JavaScript and VBScript. Experience in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2007 is a plus. Five plus years current programming experience required. Qualified applicants will have the ability to present and communicate in technical and non-technical terms. Successful applicant will have a strong understanding of software development life cycles, enterprise-wide system dependencies and change/version control.
