The Department of Health Sciences seeks a Nursing Faculty person. The nationally accredited Nursing Program offered at West Liberty University is a traditional four-year baccalaureate program with seven full-time faculty members and includes a track for registered nurses pursuing a bachelor's degree. This position is a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position with teaching responsibilities related to medical-surgical and/or maternity nursing. Experience in curriculum development and evaluation desirable. The successful candiate must hold a Doctoral degree in nursing; must have a minimum of three years of combined professional nursing experience and teaching in a professional nursing program; and hold a license as a registered professional nurse in the state of West Virginia, or be eligible for this license. ABD candidates will be considered.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and teaching skills; must have recent and thorough knowledge of nursing education and must have a commitment to excellent teaching and service, including participation in student advising, recruitment and retention. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Anticipated starting date: August 16, 2010.
