Elevate America: Free WV Job Training
The Regional Economic Development Partnership, West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) and the Northern Panhandle Workforce Investment Board are pleased to announce a new program to help residents of our community gain valuable computer and IT skills at no cost.
The Microsoft Elevate America program provides free vouchers for online training and certification in computer skills. The vouchers are designed to help individuals obtain or improve IT skills or to gain certification to help make them more employable. Microsoft has partnered with the State of West Virginia through Workforce West Virginia to make the vouchers available to West Virginia residents.
Program highlights include:
- FREE Vouchers available for Microsoft Training and Microsoft Certifications
- Training vouchers available in Microsoft Office 2007/Vista or Microsoft Office 2003 and IT Professional
- Testing vouchers in Microsoft Office 2003 Exam and 2007 Exam
- Business User Training on Microsoft Windows and Office products
- IT Professional products for people working or wanting to work in the IT field
- FREE Training Online
- Individuals who do not have computers or the appropriate software may use computer labs onany of the three campuses of WVNCC to access the training.
- Information about use of WVNCC computer labs will be made available when vouchers are distributed.
- FREE Vouchers available at all 3 WVNCC campuses: Wheeling, Weirton & New Martinsville
- Pick them up at the Reception Desk 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday; 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Fridays

- Individuals have 1 year to complete the FREE training and until August 23, 2010 to use the FREE test voucher.
- Individuals may only have one voucher at a time but may come back for more vouchers.
